Moldovan deputy minister provides perspective on priorities in security sector

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/- Participants in the postgraduate courses from the Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy paid a fact-collecting visit to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) on 6 April. Deputy Foreign Minister Lilian Darii attended the event, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s communication and media relations service has reported.
Opening the event, Darii provided a perspective on priorities in the security sector, as well as a brief assessment on the activity of the ministry in the security and defence sector. He emphasized the special role of the servicemen from Moldova in ensuring stability and security, in the context of regional and global challenges.
Heads of departments within MAEIE touched upon issues related to the role of the ministry in promoting European integration and regional initiatives, Moldova’s cooperation within the international organizations, such as: United Nations and specialized agencies, OSCE and Council of Europe.
The participants in the event expressed interest in the entire activity if the Foreign Ministry, and asked questions on the Transnistrian conflict settlement, Moldova’s vision on the five plus two negotiations and especially, the MAEIE’s role in elaborating the national strategies in the security sector.
