Over 140 companies participate in international exhibition staged in Moldova

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - Over 140 companies from Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary and Vietnam participate in the 21st issue of the international exhibition, Tourism. Leisure. Hotels, inaugurated at the Chisinau-based Moldexpo Centre today. The exhibition will be held till 10 April.
Attending the opening of the event, Deputy Economics Minister Vitalie Iurcu stressed that the exhibition represented an important action, within which the tourism potential of Moldova is presented. Iurcu also said that the exhibition’s goal was also to attract tourists from other states and establish new cooperation contacts for companies of the field. In this context, the deputy minister emphasized that, in 2015, the number of foreign tourists who visited Moldova had increased by 28 per cent against the year before.
Also, the participants were greeted by President of the National Authority for Tourism from Romania Anca Pavel Nedea, who said that the Romanian tourism operators annually took part in this exhibition. Twenty two companies displayed their offers at this issue of the exhibition. They will provide visitors with new leisure programmes for the 2016 summer season, including holidays at the seaside and in mountains, recreation and treatment at health resorts, etc., Anca Pavel Nedea also said.
A representative of the Moldovan Tourism Agency, Victor Ciobanu, handed over 30 diplomas to a group of winners of topic-related contests in the tourism sector, organised by the Agency.
A project on the promotion of domestic tourism, My Village, will be launched for the first time ever on 9 April. At the event, representatives of more Moldovan districts will display the potential of the region where they live by presentations, tastings of wines and traditional dishes, performances by folklore bands, etc.
Also, a fair of travel tickets, Hot Travel Market, will take place within the exhibition, within which tourism agencies will provide the most advantageous tourism packages of the new season. Here, visitors will have possibility to book or buy the package they wish directly at stands.
The exhibition, Tourism. Leisure. Hotels, is organised by the Moldexpo Centre, in cooperation with the Tourism Agency of Moldova.
