Moldovan parliament appoints director of National Centre for Personal Data Protection

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs today voted for the candidacy of Eduard Raducan for the office of director of the National Centre for Personal Data Protection (CNPDCP).
Raducan, who has acted as member of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) so far, will replace the former director of the institution, Vitalie Panis, who submitted an application on resignation for health reasons on 2 February.
The new CNPDCP director was born on 10 July 1975 and is lawyer by profession. In 2004-2006, Raducan worked as lecturer at the Academy of Public Administration under the Moldovan President; in 2005-2007, he held the position of deputy director of the Enforcement Department at the Justice Ministry, and starting from December 2011, he has acted as CEC member.
Under the legislation in force, the mandate of the director of the National Centre for Personal Data Protection Conform lasts five years. The person appointed cannot hold this position for more than two mandates.
