Moldovan agriculture ministry to sign new Country Programme Framework with UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will sign a new Country Programme Framework with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations. The document is aligned with the government’s goals and includes three priorities: enhancing competitiveness of the agri-food sector, sustainable agriculture, as well as rural development and natural resources management.
The document is scheduled to be signed during the next months, the Agriculture Ministry’s press service has said. The priorities of the cabinet and FAO for next period were discussed at a meeting between Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Eduard Grama and FAO Representative in Moldova, FAO Deputy Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia Raimund Jehle.
The Agriculture Ministry asks for FAO’s support to further implement the reforms in agriculture and rural development sector, especially the reform in research and science, hail protection and European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD programme).
