Moldovan foreign minister meets Estonian premier

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/-In the context of his official visit to Estonia, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur held a meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas today, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

During the meeting, the officials spoke out for fully turning the bilateral cooperation potential to good account, focusing upon the need to boost up the political dialogue and enlarge cooperation in the commercial-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields. In this sense, the sides emphasized the new interaction opportunities Moldova-EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement offers. 

The Estonian prime minister reiterated Estonia’s availability to further back Moldova in the implementation of reforms and modernization process, as provided in the EU Association Agreement. Estonia will also continue the implementation of its current assistance development projects in Moldova.

For his part, Galbur thanked the Estonian government for the support it offers Moldova and for sharing its experience in the promotion of reforms and affirmation of a good government. He also voiced gratitude for the projects Estonia implements in order to develop the digital society, train the business environment, strengthen cybernetic security, enhance the health system and develop the rural environment in Moldova. 

The Moldovan foreign minister conveyed Taavi Rõivas a message on behalf of Prime Minister Pavel Filip, inviting him to pay an official visit to Moldova in the near future.

Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur is paying an official visit to Estonia on 13-14 April, at the invitation of his Estonian counterpart Marina Kaljurand.
