Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/- Journalists will have access to the parliament’s session hall. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made statements to this effect today, based on a decision by the parliament’s Standing Bureau.
“The parliament’s Standing Bureau approved the amendment of the regulation on direct access of cameramen to the parliament’s session hall. They will enter the hall by rotation”, Candu said.
Under the decision, the cameramen will stay in the lodges situated in the upper level of the hall, taking into account the free places, which means no more than 10-13 operators. At the same time, the parliament will continue to deliver video recordings to all media outlets.
On 3 March, the journalists protested in the parliament’s session hall, demanding access during the meetings. Subsequently, a commission was set up to settle the problem on press' access to the session hall.
In the restored parliament building, journalists stay in a separate room, without having access to the session hall, and footage from meetings was broadcast on several monitors. At the same time, photographers had access to plenary sessions for only a few minutes in the beginning of the meetings, with the lawmakers invoking that they were disturbed by the presence of journalists at meetings.
