Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with representatives of the local administration of Straseni district today. The prime minister met the leadership of the district, mayors and heads of decentralized and demobilized services of the district, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.
During the talks with representatives of local public authorities, the sides approached Moldova’s social-economic development, EU integration process and settlement of current problems in various sectors.
Filip said the government continued its activity to steer Moldova out of crisis and improve its economic and social situation, simultaneously orienting its efforts towards several directions: order in the system, higher budget revenues, dialogue with Moldova’s strategic partners, price decreases and social justice.
“Our first steps aimed to achieve financial stability. We have quickly optimized the spending and made savings in the system, which now help us stay afloat and have a better dialogue with international financial bodies. In parallel with the economic stabilization, we started to clean the system. Step by step, we eliminate schemes that hurt economic agents and consumers. Whether it refers to the Customs Service, Fiscal Inspectorate, Border Police or other control institutions, we are decided to set the system out, discipline it, eliminate abuse or corruption opportunities and also change the attitude of officials towards natural and legal persons,” Filip said.
The prime minister assured that the government was actively working to regain the confidence of Moldova’s development partners. Thus, we will again have access to foreign and internal funds, as well as necessary resources to improve the situation in Moldova’s settlements.
The talks were interactive and the prime minister answered questions. “I am here to listen to your questions and problems and find optimal solutions to overcome them. We are a different government. We will not improve our image at TV. We will take efforts to achieve economic results and improve citizens’ living standards,” Filip said.
