Bundestag secretary-general reiterates Germany's willingness to further support Moldova

Chisinau, 18 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii, on a visit to Berlin to take part in an international Conference, East Forum Berlin 2016, today had a meeting with Secretary-General of the German Bundestag Horst Risse, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The two officials exchanged opinions on topical issues on the agenda of the Moldovan-German bilateral relations. In the context, the sides confirmed mutual interest in boosting the bilateral political dialogue at all levels, including on the parliamentary dimension.
Deputy Minister Darii emphasized the Moldovan cabinet’s firm determination to implement the structural reforms provided for in the Association Agreement with the European Union. At the same time, he thanked the German government for the assistance provided to Moldova to carry out the democratic transformations and modernize the country. Lilian Darii praised efforts by the team of the German OSCE chairmanship to resume the process of five-plus-two talks and promote measures to strengthen confidence between the two banks of Dniester.
For his part, the German official reiterated his country’s willingness to further support Moldova in carry out the reforms and identifying a political solution to the Transnistrian problem within the five-plus-two format of negotiations.
