Moldova-China bilateral cooperation discussed in Chisinau

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The participants in a meeting of the Moldovan-Chinese commission for commercial and economic cooperation, held in Chisinau on 2 December, discussed the bilateral relations between Moldova and China.
Deputy Economics Minister, co-head of the commission on behalf of Moldova Vitalie Iurcu reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ interest in developing the trade and economic ties between the two states in strategic sectors, such as roads’ infrastructure, information technologies, energy field, agro-food sector, in particular, in terms of export of Moldovan wines to China’s market, as well as carrying out investment projects with participation of native and Chinese companies, the Economics Ministry’s press service has reported.
Following the discussions, the sides signed several protocols of intentions on implementing bilateral projects in the roads’ infrastructure sector, innovations, energy field, etc. To boost the commercial and investment cooperation, the participants in the event signed also a memorandum on the launch of a joint feasibility study on negotiations concerning the free trade agreement between Moldova and China.
At the meeting, the Moldovan side encouraged Chinese companies to take part in initiating investment projects in Moldova, thus turning to good account opportunities provided through Industrial Parks and Free Economic Zones. In the context, the sides appreciated a Moldovan-Chinese business forum, held in Chisinau on 1 December, which represented an efficient platform to this end.
The next meeting of the Moldovan-Chinese commission for commercial and economic cooperation will take place in Beijing in 2017.
