Moldovan president, Transnistrian leader have working meeting in Bender

Chisinau, 4 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon and Transnistrian region leader Vadim Krasnoselsky had a working meeting in Bender today, the presidential press service has reported.  

At the meeting, Igor Dodon and Vadim Krasnoselsky conveyed each other congratulatory messages on victories gained in elections, highlighting the expectations of the citizens from both banks of Dniester as to the resumption of the comprehensive official dialogue.  

Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky positively appreciated the bilateral meeting, stressing the fact-collecting character of the latter. He also said the meeting represented a good beginning for cooperation to settle concrete problems for the ordinary citizens from both banks of Dniester.

President Igor Dodon said that this had been the first meeting at the level of top leadership since 2008. The head of state voiced hope that the subjects and problems accumulated would be gradually solved this year.  

Igor Dodon emphasized that, based on the support and trust on behalf of the people, displayed at the last elections, held on both banks of the Dniester, there were all premises to turn 2017 a successful year for joint activities, aimed at improving the Chisinau-Tiraspol relations.

The sides brought for discussion the agenda and entire spectrum of problems accumulated during years, including the ones in the education sector, motor transport registration, communications, citizens’ movement, etc.  

Dodon and Krasnoselsky agreed on formulating a string of solutions, due to be discussed at the next high-level meeting, scheduled to take place in the nearest future.
