As many as 516 legislative initiatives recorded in Moldovan parliament in 2016

Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 516 draft legislative acts were recorded in parliament in 2016. The data is contained in a statistic survey on the legislative process for the last year, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The parliamentary factions proposed for consideration and registered in parliament most drafts – 282. The Democratic Party (PDM) MPs presented 70 legislative initiatives, the Party of Socialists (PSRM) lawmakers – 51 proposals on amending the legislation, the MPs of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the non-affiliated lawmakers – by 26 draft legislative acts, the MPs of the Liberal Party (PL) – 19 legislative initiatives and the Party of Communists (PCRM) lawmakers – 12 drafts. At the same time, 78 draft legislative acts were recorded by the Standing Bureau, people’s assembly (local parliament) of Gagauzia and a group of MPs from all parliamentary factions.
In 2016, the government submitted 204 draft legislative acts to parliament for consideration and the Moldovan president – 30 initiatives.
A number of 266 of the 516 draft legislative acts registered in parliament were adopted, 20 were turned down, 18 were withdrawn and five drafts did not enter the legislative procedure.
