Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - The civil servants with special status at the Interior Ministry (MAI) will be employed according to new requirements, under the law on civil servant with special status at MAI, published in the 10 February issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The employees of the General Police Inspectorate, National Patrol Inspectorate, Border Police, as well as the other MAI employees fall under the provisions of the law.
According to the document, a person who holds the Moldovan citizenship, knows the state language, is not younger than 18, is able to exercise the office from the medical viewpoint, under a decision by the MAI specialized commission, has the proper knowledge for the office in which he/she is to be employed, has no criminal records, is no suspect in a law suit, defendant in a criminal case, has an irreproachable reputation, was not dismissed from a public office with special status for the violation of the job discipline and is not member of a political party, political organization or organization banned by law can be employed in a public post with special status of MAI.
At the same time, the law sees that the duration of the probationary period is of at least three months and 12 months at the most and is set according to the office accessed by the candidate.
Also, the civil servants with special status are provided annual leave with a duration of 35 calendar days, which increases by five calendar days for a length of service of more than ten years, by ten calendar days for a length of service of over 15 years and by 15 calendar days for a length of service of more than 20 years.
The present law will enter into force on 25 May 2017.
