Chisinau National Philharmonic hosts Spring Festival Chinese New Year 2017

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ – Spring Festival "Chinese New Year 2017" was held today at the National Philharmonic "Sergei Lunchevici", organized by the "Confucius" within the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM).
The event was attended by Ambassador of China in Moldova, Zhang Yinghong, Directors of Institute "Confucius" Wang Yifeng and Radu Plamadeala, other officials.
Interviewed by the agency, Chinese Ambassador in Chisinau, Yinghong Zhang said that on 30 January, it was celebrated 25 years of diplomatic relations between China and Moldova. "During this period, the friendly relations between the two countries have developed very deep. We have very good relations both in political and economic fields, and the cultural one, as well," said Zhang Yinghong.
According to official, at Institute "Confucius" within ULIM more than 3,600 students have studied the Chinese language. It also is studied in other institutions: kindergarten "Lastaras", high schools "Socrates" and "M. Berezovschi" etc.
In this context, director of Institute "Confucius" for Moldova, Radu Plamadeala said that since 2009, when this facility opened, 43 students from Moldova have successfully applied for scholarships Bachelor and Master at universities China.
During the event, students from educational institutions in Moldova, studying Chinese presented a program of Chinese songs and dances.
The New Year Day in China dates back four thousand years. From 28 January 2017 until 15 February 2018 is the Year of the Fire Rooster in the Chinese zodiac – a strong year where everyone will advance and start new things.
