Moldova, Ukraine sign cooperation agreement for 2017

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Groysman, today signed a roadmap on cooperation programme between the two countries for 2017.
Filip said the meeting was focused on development of the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations and possibilities to boost the bilateral partnership. “More current topics have been discussed, including: boosting economic relations, protecting Dniestre river ecosystem, as well as jointly approaching the Transnistrian conflict settlement. Thanks the Ukrainian side for participating in negotiations in the 5+2 format to settle conflict by preserving integrity and sovereignty of Moldova”, he said.
For his part, Volodymyr Groysman noted that the dialogue between the two officials had been efficient and constructive. “We will take joint efforts to solve existing problems. At the same time, we set an action plan for this year including issues of common interest, such as: development of trade relations, road infrastructure and protection of Dniestre river ecosystem. We will further cooperate to get conclusive results”, he said.
Also, a protocol has been signed as regards facilitation of cross-border traffic between Moldova and Ukraine.
Today Filip pays a visit to Kiev, Ukraine, to meet Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
