Moldova, Hungary to boost cooperation in agriculture sector

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Hungary will improve the cooperation in the sectors of food safety, animals’ health and phyto-sanitary field. The cabinet, at a today’s meeting, approved a memorandum of understanding between the Agriculture Ministries of the two states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document sees strengthening the capacities of the state institutions with competences in the food safety sector, adjusting to the sanitary, veterinary and phyto-sanitary requirements of the European Union, which will allow extending the categories of agricultural products exported to EU.
Also, the enforcement of the memorandum will boost the cooperation ties within programmes and mechanisms of assistance on behalf of the EU and regional structures.
The memorandum is concluded for a five-year period and was signed in Budapest on 5 December 2016.
