Moldova to possess vine, wine register

Chisinau, 09 March /MOLDPRES/ – The government approved today a decision on establishment of the Register of vine and wine. It also approves the regulation on the manner of keeping it.
According to the document, the vine, wine register is established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and held by the National Office of Vine and Wine. The Register will comprise operators, carrying out at least one of the activities of manufacturing, storage, wine wholesale, wine-based products, wine production and marketing of the grapes used as a raw material in making wine.
The regulation on Register keeping sets out the registration of vineyard and winery establishments and tracking them through the data blocks.
The registration of vineyard lots which are larger than 0.15 hectares and all wineries in the wine register will be free of charge. Public data will be accessible to the general public for free.
The expenses related to making of software for automated information system for the Register of vine and wine has to be set up in September 2017. The initial registration of vineyard lots and units of wine will be supported from grants provided by the Development Agency of the Czech Republic and US Development Agency. The expenses are estimated at about $1 million.
