Moldovan PM says publication of EU's report important, positive moment for Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - The prime minister, at a today’s cabinet meeting, referred to a report worked out by the European Commission and the European External Action Service, in the offing of the EU-Moldova Association Council, due on 31 March 2017, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM stressed that the report worked out by EU confirmed the fact of implementation in Moldova of a string of reforms aimed fighting corruption, optimizing the public administration, re-establishing the macroeconomic balance, as well as at adjusting the national legislation in the electric energy and gas sectors to the EU acquis. At the same time, Pavel Filip underlined that the elaboration of the report highlighted Moldova’s presence on the EU’s agenda and expressed the European Union’s openness for further backing the implementation of the reforms in Moldova.
“The publication of the report is an important and positive moment for Moldova. What we should remember from this evaluation are not just the critical aspects, but also the conclusions which read that 2016 was a year of new beginnings, when a significant legislative work was carried out,” the prime minister added.
