Technical conditions for vehicles accessible to disabled people to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ – The technical requirements for vehicles accessible to people with disabilities will be published tomorrow in the Official Journal of Moldova.

The technical requirements will be mandatory for road vehicles engaged in fee passenger transport and changing works of special road vehicles.

According to the document, each space for wheelchairs must be equipped with the trolley fastening systems and safety systems for the passenger. Also, all areas that the carriage will move must be slip resistant.

Similarly, according to the regulation on all sides of the ramp strip is to be applied a contrasting colour to the colour of the ramp. Also, outside the vehicle should be applied an indicator informing that it is adapted for disabled people.

The document comes into force commencing 01 April 2017.
