Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today approved a draft decision on the resignation of an MP of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Liliana Palihovici.

The mandate which remained vacant after the resignation of Liliana Palihovici will be taken over by the next lawmaker on the PLDM list, Nicolae Olaru.

In late last week, Palihovici said that she gave up her MP mandate and at that same time, that she quit the Liberal Democratic Party, on the list of which she was elected lawmaker, as she feels that she no longer can do “the things for which the electors voted for her.” At that time, the former deputy parliament speaker addressed a message to the parliament colleagues, in which she said that the Moldovans were sick and tired of demagogy and politics and they wanted concrete actions. “The democracy has failed. I hope that, after I come down from this rostrum, there are people wondering about what is happening in this country,” Palihovici said.

Presently, PLDM has only six MPs out of 23 initially elected ones.

Liliana Palihovici was born in the Horodiste village, central Calarasi district, on 26 November 1971. In 2007, she was elected deputy leader of PLDM and has been acting as MP and parliament deputy speaker starting from 2010.
