Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/- A psychiatrist expert at the Republican Psychiatric Clinical Hospital was detained today by officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), suspected of organizing a criminal scheme that exempted from criminal liability persons accused of murders and sexual offenses.
According to CNA data, the doctor acted in complicity with his concubine, who had the role of mediator. He found the clients, mostly accused of murders and rapes, who were subsequently to be declared “irresponsible” at the time of committing the crime, in exchange for amounts of money from 4,000 to 20,000 euros.
Until now, the investigators have documented five cases in which defendants for different crimes turned to the psychiatrist’s services.
The doctor’s concubine was chosen with criminal file for influence trafficking. Both run the risk of up to 10 years of imprisonment, and those who have benefited from their services for up to seven years.
