Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The message reads:
“152 years ago, only dreamers and visionaries could have imagined that today, when we celebrate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, we can talk and see from a distance in real time.
It was 1865 and the first International Convention on Telegraphy was signed. On this occasion, the International Telecommunication Union was created. Today the Information Society has become a true universe, with many galaxies, in which the speed of information and the way to be transmitted exceeded any imagination.
Only surpassing any imagination you can achieve unprecedented performance. Only believing in a dream of vision, a universe can be created.
In Moldova we can be proud that we have created a strong and expanding ICT community. ICT sector is now at the forefront of reforms in Moldova. It is also one of the main promoters of change in society and business environment, maintaining a stable development dynamic.
ICT is turning into a vital necessity for all of us and transforms everyone as a society.
I personally believe that the ICT services have become indispensable elements of everyday life. Governments around the world are trying to keep up with the innovations and increasingly use information technologies in current work. Technologies improve public services, minimize bureaucratic elements, optimize government work and facilitate democratic participation, bringing governments closer to citizens.
But more than that, as a former ICT minister and today as prime minister, I strongly believe that this field is one of the future solutions for modern economy of a small country like Moldova.
We have many very good young people here, who if cleverly stimulated to stay at home, do business and deliver high quality services to the world, Moldova will develop rapidly and healthily.
Therefore, the government trusts in this industry, because it is a sector meant to develop everything else. It has a catalytic role in the economic growth and sustainable development that Moldova needs.
Personally I am firmly convinced that the main capital on which we rely is people, each of you, those working in the field and those who are preparing to follow this path.
To all, I would like to express my sincere congratulations and thanks to ICT workers and businesses in the sector for contributing to the growth of a Modern Information Society in Moldova. I wish you new achievements and use efficiently the IT parks we have launched with confidence in the development of this sector!
And another thing, be dreamers and visionaries, because this system draws its energy and creativity!
