Moldovan cabinet backs measures of enhancing consumers' protection

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved an action plan on the implementation of the Strategy in the consumers’ protection sector for 2017-2020, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document was worked out in line with the four major goals of the Strategy: decrease in the risk of appearance of products and services dangerous on market; reducing the level of harmful transactions for consumers; education and information of the consumer; optimizing the process of claiming the rights and of recovery of damages.
In particular, the action plan provides for the adjusting of the national normative framework to the European Union’s one as regards the minimum requirements of quality and inoffensiveness of goods and services. At the same time, decision-makers plan to work out and implement sectoral programmes of market’s supervision, efficient cooperation between the competent authorities in the consumers’ protection sector.
The carrying out of the actions planned will be financed within the limit of the budget approved, as well as from sources provided by foreign development partners.
