Moldovan government approves national programme on fighting B, C, D viral hepatites

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved a national programme on fighting the viral hepatites B, C and D for 2017-2021 and an action plan on its implementation. The document’s goal is to reduce morbidity because of acute, chronic viral hepatitis and cirrhoses at least to the indexes recorded in most European countries, with the improvement of the epidemiological situation and the health condition of Moldova’s residents.  

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the authorities are set to develop services of diagnosis of the B, C and D viral hepatites, implement prophylaxis measures, carry out scientific researches and inform the population about the serious consequences of the falling sick with the aforementioned hepatites. Also, among the objectives set in the Programme, there are the ensuring of access of patients ill with B, C and D hepatites to qualitative services of treatment and continuous care.     

Following the carrying out of the actions set, decision-makers aim at increasing the rate of early detection of persons infected with B, C and D viral hepatitis, providing regional and territorial laboratories with diagnosis tests, as well as at working out a functional register to monitor the treatment of the acute and chronic viral hepatites.  

The estimated cost of the Programme’s implementation is 442.8 million lei, meant to ensure the treatment of sick people in specialized sections, by use of anti-viral preparations, developing diagnosis and laboratory services, vaccination and other prophylaxis measures.
