Governmental Commission for European Integration sets priorities for next period

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired a meeting of the Governmental Commission for European Integration on 17 May, and analyzed the developments in the implementation of the Association Agreement and the priorities for next period, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The participants in the meeting discussed the implementation of the National Plan for Implementation of Association Agreement in the first quarter of 2017.
In the context, the premier asked all the relevant authorities to take necessary measures necessary to achieve the outstanding actions as soon as possible and to provide updated information on their stage so that a detailed report should be submitted by late May.
“Despite several events that have overlapped lately, the European agenda has been the focus and we must make every effort to go as well as we went along with the roadmap, talks with the International Monetary Fund”, he said.
Another important issue was related to developments in the preparation for expanding the list of products of animal origin exported by Moldova to the EU market, namely, the category B eggs, poultry meat and egg products. In this context, an action plan was approved, which stipulates adjusting national legislation to European standards in the field and equipping laboratories with the necessary equipment.
At the same time, the National Food Safety Agency and the Agriculture and Food Ministry are to complete the procedures related to concluding the necessary arrangements with the European Commission in order to get support to combat African swine fever.
