Moldovan, European officials broach economic cooperation

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/-Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan had a meeting with Head of the Cooperation Program Division of the Council of Europe’s Department of Democracy and Political Affairs Anna Capello-Brillat, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The main topic of discussion focused on the Transnistrian issue. The officials referred especially to the prospects for implementation of projects aimed at promoting confidence-building measures due to be financed through the Action Plan Moldova-Council of Europe 2017-2020.
At the same time, Balan underlined that the fundamental rights and freedoms of people from the left bank of the Dniestre are systematically violated following the restrictive measures imposed by the alleged Tiraspol structures in various fields, including education, freedom of movement, safety of people, right to property etc.
Also, the official assured that the Moldovan authorities will make joint efforts in the future to keep all existing dialogue platforms active and provide the necessary support both to the people and economic agents in the Transnistrian region.
