Moldovan-Armenian political consultations held in Yerevan

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/- A round of Moldovan-Armenian interministerial consultations was held today at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers in Yerevan, Armenia. The Moldovan side was represented by Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii, and the Armenian – by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan.
According to the Foreign and European Integraiton Ministry’s information and media relations service, the sides exchanged opinions about the current issues on the agenda of relations between Moldova and Armenia, especially, the prospects for strengthening political relations and developing interaction in areas of mutual interest.
The two officials underlined the need to organize the first meeting of the Moldovan-Armenian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which will contribute to deepening cooperation both in the economic and cultural-humanitarian sectors.
At the same time, the officials confirmed the willingness to cooperate within international organizations, such as the UN, the Council of Europe and the BSEC.
Also, expert consultations were held on issues related to the inventory of the legal basis of bilateral cooperation.
