PM thanks Bulgarian authorities for constant support of Moldova's European integration

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - The evolution of the Moldovan-Bulgarian relations and possibilities of deepening the bilateral partnership were discussed at a today’s meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Bulgarian Ambassador to Moldova Petar Vilov, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The sides stressed the importance of further developing the cooperation between the two states, stressing that the 2017 year was significant, given the marking of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and Bulgaria. In the context, the PM thanked the Bulgarian side for the constant backing of Moldova’s European integration, stressing that the Moldovan authorities were interested in taking over the experience and good practices of the EU member states.
At the same time, during the meeting, the prime minister welcomed the Bulgarian cabinet’s decision to open a consulate in Taraclia. Also, Pavel Filip noted that the integration of the national minorities in the society was a priority for the Moldovan government. ‘’We must have an as efficient as possible policy on national minorities, as only a well-integrated society can ensure the peace and development of the state,’’ the prime minister said.
For his part, Bulgarian Ambassador to Moldova Petar Vilov thanked for the conditions provided by Moldova for the preservation of the linguistic and cultural identity of the ethnic Bulgarians. The diplomat voiced confidence that the Moldovan-Bulgarian ties would progress in continuation.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinions on the economic cooperation between the two states, bilateral collaboration in the education sector, as well as the need to back the syllabi in the Bulgarian language in the general and higher education.
In the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip conveyed an invitation to Bulgarian PM Boiko Borisov to pay an official visit to Moldova in the near future.
