Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, re-brought for discussion the subject on control of economic agents’ work. In this respect, Pavel Filip welcomed an operation carried out by the State Tax Service, within which more traders of tobacco products were checked and sanctions worth one million lei were applied, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
“A reason for satisfaction is not the applying of these fines, but the clear-cut message we convey: we will not tolerate the tax dodging. Those who do not pay the taxes give a double blow: one the one hand, financial means are not collected in the state budget; on the other hand, they do not contribute to the social sector, in order to provide well-being to Moldova’s citizens,” Pavel Filip said.
The PM stressed that the monitoring of the enterprises’ work would be carried out by control institutions transparently and predictably, in order to ensure fair conditions and back those who work honestly. “I want everybody to understand this quite tough message: everybody will pay taxes. In this way, we will be able to answer questions concerning the pensions, salaries, roads and other social and public investments,” the prime minister added.
