Chisinau people to pay more for water and sewerage service

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/- The population in the capital will pay by 6.3 per cent more for the water supply and sewerage service. A decision on the matter of the National Energy Regulatory Agency will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 26 May.
Under the ANRE decision, the new tariff will be 10.69 lei per cubic meter for the water supply and sewerage service offered to households, by 6.3 per cent more than until now.
The tariff for non-household consumers was set at 24.46 lei per cubic meter, compared to the current 22.96 lei. The last adjustment of the rates for water supply and sewerage service took place in 2009.
The tariffs for water and sewerage will increase for residents of Ungheni city. They will pay 20.47 lei per cubic meter, by 0.52 lei more than earlier paid. Economic agents will pay more for one cubic meter of water, 38.47 lei.
Apa-Canal Chisinau company has over 90,000 consumers and water and sewerage service provider in Ungheni – about 14,000.
