Moldovan anticorruption centre detains Chisinau municipal council secretary, two councillors

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - The secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) and two councilors were detained by the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) today.

The CNA spokeswoman, Angela Starinschi, has told MOLDPRES that “the detained persons are concerned in files on passive corruption, influence peddling and abuse of office. Presently, criminal prosecution actions take place; we will subsequently come up with details,” Starinschi said.

At the same time, CNA officers and anticorruption prosecutors presently carry out searches at the office of Chisinau mayor, Dorin Chirtoaca, and the one of the CMC secretary, Valeriu Didencu. The information was confirmed for MOLDPRES by the spokesman for of the Chisinau city hall, Vadim Brinzaniuc.
