Man detained for minors' sexual exploitation in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers have detained a 47-year-old man for trafficking of children. Prosecutor Vladimir Mosneaga made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
According to Mosneaga, the children would have been sexually exploited on the territory of Chisinau in 2016-2017. “The suspect involved in prostitution three minors with ages between 15 and 17 years. At the same time, along with the children, sexual services were provided by adults too. Announcements on providing sexual services were placed on a commercial webpage of Moldova and the relations themselves were taking place in the flats owned by the suspect. The price of the services was of 600-700 lei for one hour and the accused person was benefiting from sums worth from 400 to 600 lei from each person per day. The man is under arrest and distraint was levied on the flats owned by him,” Mosneaga said.
Also, the prosecutor noted that, in another case, two men brothers had been detained, who were sexually exploiting two minors and one adult. “The actions were taking place in a flat in the capital. The announcements were placed also on a commercial webpage; yet, in this case, the victims were offering to the traffickers a half of the money got from providing sexual services. The persons detained are under arrest and the young girls were returned to families,” Mosneaga noted.
If found guilty, the suspects run the risk of being sentenced to 15-20 years of imprisonment or of getting life sentence.
