Moldovan parliament appoints new top court judge

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ – Parliament today approved the candidacy of Luiza Gafton for the position of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ).
According to the decision of the Legislature, Luiza Gafton will hold the mandate of magistrate until reaching the age limit of 65.
Magistrates of CSJ are appointed by the Parliament on a proposal from the Superior Council of Magistracy following a public contest.
Luiza Gafton has been a judge since 1991 and during the years she served as head of the Botanical Court and vice-Chairman of the Chisinau Court.
