Chisinau general mayor placed under home arrest for 30 days

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ – Mayor of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca, was placed under home arrest for 30 days, today.

The decision was taken by the magistrates of the Chisinau Buiucani sector Court.

The Mayor of Chisinau municipality was arrested on 25 May by anticorruption prosecutors and officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) in the file of paid parking, suspected of the traffic of influence.

Seven people were detained in the same case. These are the deputy mayor of Chisinau, the head of the Urban Transport and Communications Department, a former municipal councilor, the managers of three parking companies and a businessman, suspected that several companies participating in tender would have shadowed, including the winning one. At present, some of the defendants are under home arrest, while others in the CAN’s isolator.
