Moldovan Liberal Party's ministers submit applications on resignation

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - The education and environment ministers and deputy ministers today submitted applications on resignation to the State Chancellery. Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega has earlier submitted an application on leave, which begins today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the government’s press service noted that seven applications on resignation on behalf of the civil servants delegated by the Liberal Party (PL) had been received by the State Chancellery till 15:30.
According to the cited source, Education Minister Corina Fusu and Deputy Education Ministers Cristina Boaghe and Elena Cernei, Environment Minister Valeriu Munteanu and deputy ministers Igor Talmazan and Victor Morgoci, as well as the director of the Material Reserves Agency, Nicolae Hincu, submitted applications on resignation today. Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega on 18 May wrote an application on leave, which starts today.
The spokesman for the Liberal Party, Ionel Puscas, told MOLDPRES that all civil servants delegated by PL would submit applications on resignation today.
The decision to quit the cabinet was taken on 26 May, at a meeting of the party’s Republican Council. Also on that day, the Liberals said they were leaving the ruling coalition, as they are discontented with the fact that the Chisinau city mayor, Dorin Chirtoaca and Transport and Roads Infrastructure Minister Iurie Chirinciuc were detained by the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA).
The Democratic Party (PDM) has earlier said that it took note of the decision announced by the Liberal Party to withdraw from the majority coalition. This decision is to be analyzed at a PDM meeting due on 30 May.
In late last week, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the government would not appoint new ministers but following the reform of the Central Public Administration, which provides for cutting the number of ministers from 16 to 9.
