Moldovan leadership meets representatives of mediators, observers in five-plus-two talks

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Speaker Andrian Candu and Moldovan President Igor Dodon met with the heads of diplomatic missions involved in negotiation process format "5+2" on Transnistrian conflict settlement today, namely: the Russian Ambassador, the Ukrainian Ambassador, the Head of the OSCE Mission, the U.S. Ambassador and the Head of the EU Delegation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

There was held a broad exchange of views, during the meeting, on the current stage and perspectives of the negotiation process aimed at solving the Transnistrian problem and promoting confidence building measures in the context of preparations for a new meeting in format "5+2".

Foreign diplomats presented a common vision of the actions to be taken in the near future to ensure a positive process dynamics. It was reiterated the reinforced will of the Moldovan authorities to find compromise solutions on the most pressing issues on the agenda of the negotiations in Berlin protocol and in the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol.

At their parts, the heads of diplomatic missions welcomed the efforts of the Moldovan leadership in order to boost the Transnistrian settlement process and reiterated their readiness to contribute as mediators and observers to achieve concrete results in this respect that could improve the lives of ordinary people and approach the two banks of the Dniester.
