Moldova's National Participation Council to become platform of balance between citizens, public authorities

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated at the inaugural event of the National Council for Participation (CNP) for mandate of 2017-2019, today. The event brought together the CNP’s members, Government, as well as representatives of the State Chancellery, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Prime Minister reiterated the Government eagerness to strengthen communication with civil society and other interested parties in identifying and realizing the strategic priorities of Moldova’s development. "Starting from the name of the National Council for Participation (CNP), I want to mention that I want communication and participation, when we are talking about a policy document or another, a draft decision or a decision. This platform comes to ensure a balance between the citizen and the public authorities," said the PM. Also, Pavel Filip emphasized the willingness of the current government to rebuild the relations of collaboration with the civil society by maintaining the independence and non-politicization of the civil participation.
On it, in perspectives, the CNP’s members will come up with proposals to amend the CNP Activity Rules, preceded by a self-organizing meeting. As such, it will be presented the CNP’s leadership, the working groups and their coordinating members, in accordance with the strategic priorities of the Government.
The meeting participants agreed to a close collaboration, including the support of civil society for inventorying policy documents and monitoring their implementation process.
It was approved the new CNP’s nominal composition by the Government decision on 18 April 2017. The development of a mechanism for promoting the participation of civil society organizations in the decision-making process at national level is foreseen in the Government Activity Program, in provisions of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, as well as in other national and international commitments.
