Moldovan PM says two deputy ministers to be appointed on 31 May

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip has informed that, on 31 May, the deputy ministers would be appointed at the institutions which remained without leadership, after the ministers delegated by the Liberal Party (PL) had submitted applications on resignation. The PM today made statements to this effect following a weekly working meeting of the Democratic Party (PDM).
At a news conference, the prime minister noted that the ministers of the concerned institutions would be appointed after the cabinet’s reformation. “The government remains functional and enjoys the support of the parliamentary majority. We will approve new deputy ministers at the tomorrow cabinet meeting, in order to ensure the institutions’ functionality. At the same time, next week, we will approve the law on government’s reformation; subsequently, we will ask for the support of parliament’s colleagues, after which we will unveil the new structure in parliament,” Filip said.
At the same time, the prime minister noted that a topic discussed today was also the First House project. “Studies show that young people flee the country, as they see no prospects to buy a dwelling in Moldova. Thus, this project provide young people with possibility to purchase a house through an initial contribution of ten per cent and chance to take a loan worth up to 900,000 lei, with the dwelling’s cost being up to one million lei. The house bought will be given under gage 50 per cent by the bank and 50 per cent by the state. Also, the loan will be provided for 25 years. The project’s concept is to be discussed and subsequently approved,” Filip said.
As for those five diplomats from Russia, expelled from Moldova and declared persona non grata on the country’s territory, the PM specified that he “cannot provide details on the diplomats’ identity; yet, they were expelled and declared persona non grata based on information received from the Intelligence and Security Service.”
