Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - The prices for petrol and diesel increase insignificantly, after two price cuts in a row, which exceeded over six per cent. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today set the ceiling selling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol at 17.14 lei for one litre and for diesel – at 14.69 lei for the period 31 May-13 June.
During 16-30 May, the petrol and diesel cheapened by 4.7 per cent, and respectively, 4.1 per cent, and on the period before, the fuels’ prices dropped by 2.6 and three per cent.
The new prices for petrol and diesel will enter into force at midnight, when operators will have no right to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones established by ANRE. The prices posted on ANRE’s webpage today will be valid for 14 calendar days.
The oil price was again decreasing in late last week, after several days of euphoria triggered by high expectations of analysts concerning the OPEC summit held In Vienna on 25-26 May. Oil-industry workers chose the best variant, namely the prolongation by nine months, till March 2018, of the agreement on limited production quotas. As a result, the Brent oil price, of reference in Europe, dropped by 5.1 per cent to 51.2 dollars for one barrel, according to the Bloomberg quotations.
