Moldovan government approves measures to enhance security of lifts' exploitation

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The minimum requirements of security concerning the exploitation of lifts were approved at a today’s cabinet meeting. The new provisions will be implemented to establish one-off conditions in the process of exploitation, revision and repair of lifts, meant to ensure the avoidance of accident situations, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The document approved regulates the procedure of registration, way of putting lifts into operation, their coming into disuse, obligations and duties of the service staff.  

Also, a string of measures needed for a reliable exploitation is provided for, among which the technical verification with a periodicity of at least once in 12 months and carrying out a general revision in case of strong earthquakes, stopping working for more than 90 days or expiration of the period of work of the lift.  

The observance of the security requirements will contribution to the protection of public interests and people’s safety, protection of consumers, industrial and fire safety.
