Moldovan Liberal Party withdraws political support for deputy mayor of Chisinau, two deputy ministers

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ – The Liberal Party (PL) announced withdrawal of political support for deputy mayor of Chisinau municipality, Nistor Grozavu, Deputy Minister of Transports and Road Infrastructure, Sergiu Bucataru, and Deputy Minister of Education, Elena Cernei, today.
According to the PL’s press service, the decision was taken at the meeting of the party’s Political Bureau, today.
By the end of the last week, the Liberal Party announced on its leaving the governing coalition after Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca and other PL officials were detained by anticorruption officers.
Also, the PL leader Mihai Ghimpu announced that all ministers and deputy ministers, supported by the party, would resign. Despite that, Deputy Education Minister Elena Cernei withdrew her request for resignation on Tuesday, 30 May after she had submitted it on Monday, 29 May and Deputy Minister of Transports and Road Infrastructure, Sergiu Bucataru, even has not presented it.
