Moldovan prime minister urges case investigation of violence against child in Chisinau kindergarten

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip urged the competent authorities to urgently initiate a comprehensive assessment of the case of violence against a child in a kindergarten in the capital, presented by an investigative portal, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, the inter-sectorial group set up to investigate this case is to take the necessary measures to protect the rights of the child. Also, the actions of the manager of the institution of early education, the educator and the assistant of the educator involved will be assessed in accordance with the provisions of the ethical code and the related normative framework.
The Premier also asked the Ministry of Education to organize a national scale assessment of child care in institutions of early education to prevent and identify the actual/potential situations of risk of abuse, neglect or violence.
Following the evaluation, the competent authorities, jointly with the representatives of the parents' associations, academia and civil society, will elaborate measures for the non-admission of similar cases and submit them within one month for approval to the National Council for the Protection of Child's Rights.
