Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/- MPs of the Liberal Party (PL) of Moldova made public the party’s decision to go into opposition.
A statement submitted by Liberal MP Roman Botan reads that Democrats subordinated their law enforcement bodies, and several officials delegated by PL, including Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca were detained with violations of the law.
The Liberals also expressed dissatisfaction with the proposals to amend the electoral legislation and noted that “the working atmosphere within the ruling coalition changed radically after the presidential election won by Igor Dodon”.
Botan said that PL made a coalition with PD “in order to avoid snap polls that would have brought the pro-Russian forces to the government” and reiterated that the party’s desideratum remains the unification of Moldova with Romania.
