European People’s Party leader appointed vice-president of Moldovan parliament

Chisinau, 02 June /MOLDPRES/ – The leader of the European People's Party of Moldova (PPEM), Iurie Leanca, was appointed today as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
The candidacy of Leanca was proposed to the plenary by Speaker Andrian Candu in consultation with the parliamentary factions and was voted by 52 MPs.
Iurie Leanca will occupy the vacant seat after Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova’s (PLDM) MP Liliana Palihovici had left the Legislature.
Only the MPs of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) and the European People's Group participated at voting today, after the PLDM, Communists’ Party of Moldova (PCRM), Liberal Party (PL) and Socialists’ Party of Moldova (PSRM) factions left the meeting room.
