Over 2,000 tons of garbage accumulated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/- More than 2,000 tons of garbage have accumulated at the waste collection points in Chisinau. At the same time, the municipal authorities are still looking for a solution to evacuate it after the residents of Bubuieci village blocked the access of the trucks of Autosalubritate administration to the garbage dump in the locality.
Deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu announced that there are several solutions to this problem, but no final decision has been reached. “On Thursday, we went to the scene, we spoke with representatives of the local public administration and protesters’ leaders. Then we almost came to a solution, but there were more political affiliates who are making some interest on the basis of this conflict”, Grozavu said.
“We continue to work on this issue, especially through talks with protesters. We cannot take any steps now without authorization and without projects, we have researches the area around Chisinau and have set there is no place for waste disposal, which means that we still need time to prepare a garbage disposal polygon”, he said.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip ordered the creation of a working group to thoroughly analyze the situation and to come up with rational proposals as soon as possible, with concrete solutions and conditions in which they can be achieved in due time. The working group includes representatives of the Chisinau city hall, Bubueci mayoralty, Autosalubritate company, as well as central public authorities – State Chancellery, ministries of Environment, Regional Development and Construction, Economy and Internal Affairs.
Also, the members of the working group will have discussions with inhabitants of Bubuieci village in order to find a solution that would solve the problems, as well as ensure the sanitation of Chisinau.
