Days of Moldovan culture marked in Belarus

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Belarusian Premier Andrey Kobeacov participated in opening of Days of Moldovan Culture in Belarus, held in Minsk on 5-8 June, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
On this occasion, Filip highlighted the importance of promoting cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue.
At the same time, the premier appreciated culture as a strategic resource the social and economic development of a state and welcomed the initiative to promote national traditions and customs abroad. In this respect, Filip thanked the Belarusian side for the opportunity to present Moldovan cultural values to the public in this country.
The official also pointed out the positive dynamics of the bilateral cultural dialogue, noting several common cultural actions, including the Belarusian Culture Days in 2015 in Moldova and opening of the Belarusian Cultural Centre in 2016 in Chisinau. Also, the premier voiced confidence that the signing of the cooperation plan between the ministries of culture of Moldova and Belarus, as well as the evolution of the Fluieras folk music and dance band will help bring together the nations of the two countries.
“Relations between Moldova and Belarus are an example of cooperation between two states, as they are fair and based on common interest. I am sure our bilateral partnership in the field of culture will be on the rise from year to year”, he concluded.
At the same time, the premier of Belarus noted that this event is important for deepening the friendship relations between the two countries. “Our countries have both historical and cultural ties. Over the past years, more and more Moldovan artists come to Belarus, and their work is highly appreciated by our citizens’, Kobeacov said.
