Moldovan deputy premier meets speaker of Sweden

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/- During his visit to Stockholm, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur had a meeting on Wednesday, June 7th, with the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag), Urban Ahlin, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service has reported.
The two officials noted the intensified parliamentary cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Sweden, in the context of the exchange of visits by the Speakers of the two Parliaments in 2016.
During the meeting, the creation of the Moldova-Sweden Group of friendship in the Swedish Rikstag was announced, to be chaired by Mrs. Lena Emilsson.
Minister Andrei Galbur expressed gratitude for Sweden’s assistance in strengthening the parliamentary system of our country by supporting several projects aimed at improving the legislative function of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in an effective, participatory and transparent manner.
In his turn, Speaker Urban Ahlin appreciated the progress registered by Moldova in promoting the agenda of priority reforms, reconfirming his country's commitment to further support the modernization process of the Republic of Moldova.
