Moldovan government takes new measures for more secure natural gas consumption

Chisinau, 08 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Executive approved minimum safety requirements regarding the operation of natural gas distribution systems at its meeting today.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the document purposes to protect public interests, like health and safety at work, consumer and environmental protection, as well as industrial and fire safety.

The project provides minimum safety requirements for the safe and reliable operation of both gas supply systems and gaseous fuel consuming appliances with the technical installations used. Also, all necessary requirements are specified, starting with the design phase of a natural gas supply system and finalizing with the requirements for the operation of the integrated fuel gas system.

The established rules will help to prevent a large number of incidents and damages that have occurred in recently related to gases, including the exploitation and lack of monitoring of the technical condition of individual liquefied gas cylinders.
