Moldovan authorities to issue new car registration certificates as of March 2018

Chisinau, 08 June /MOLDPRES/ – The model of registration certificates for vehicles, including temporary ones, are to be brought in line with the provisions of the field European directives. A decision in this regard was approved at the Executive’s meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

However, it is foreseen to reformulate concepts "Model" in "Vehicle type", "Body type" in "Commercial description" and "Vehicle type" field will be redrawn into "Vehicle category/subcategory". The "J2 Body Type" field will also be entered, while the "Engine Number" field will be excluded, with an optional character.

The amendments will be applied from the moment when the necessary conditions for the issuance of the new certificates are put into circulation, not exceeding 01 March 2018. The certificates issued before the new provisions enter into force will remain valid until the expiry of their period.

The implementation of the project does not require financial resources from the state budget, the expenses being covered by the responsible authority for issuing the vehicle registration documents – the Public Services Agency (ASP), within the limits of the available sources. The price that applicants will pay for certificate will not alter.
