Moldovan PM says Moldova's pro-European option does not prevent country from having good ties with Eastern countries

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip referred to the results of the working visit to Belarus, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the prime minister said that, during meetings with Belarusian officials, the sides had exchanged opinions on achieving the jointly established goals, with emphasis put on the positive outcomes from the bilateral cooperation in sectors of common interest. In the context, the PM emphasized the increase of trade exchanges between the two states and the work of the Moldovan-Belarusian inter-governmental commission on the commercial and economic dimension, whose members have recently convened at a meeting to identify new contact points on this segment.
In conclusion, Pavel Filip said that the constructive dialogue with the Belarusian side proved that Moldova has openness to edify mutually advantageous relations also with the states which are not members of EU, especially with the ones of the Commonwealth of Independent States. “The Moldovan-Belarusian relations represent an example through which everybody should understand that the pro-European option of Moldova does not prevent us from having good relations with the countries from East, based on mutual respect,” the PM added.
