Moldovan foreign minister meets Swedish State Secretary for Justice and Migration

Chisinau, 08 June /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, today met with the State Secretary for Justice and Migration of Sweden, Lars Westbratt, in the context of his visit to Stockholm.

According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service, the talks focused on opportunities to intensify bilateral cooperation in areas such as justice, domestic affairs and migration, as well as the impact of Sweden’s contribution to strengthening democracy and the rule of law in Moldova .

Minister Andrei Galbur noted the intensification of the Moldovan-Swedish cooperation in the field of internal affairs, in the context of the entry into force of the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Sweden on law enforcement cooperation, signed in Chisinau in February 2017.

The officials also highlighted mutual interest in enhancing bilateral judicial cooperation, including by taking over Swedish expertise and launching concrete projects on the segments: probation, penitentiary system and judicial expertise.
